I am not a Cannibal

Those rosy round apple cheeks, those big blueberry eyes, those candy coloured lips. Sometimes I could just slurp her up.

I'm sitting cross legged on the rug reaching towards this chubby little cherub, her eyes sparkling like sugar on a cupcake. Her tootsie roll fingers stretch sweetly toward mine. She takes her first non-falling steps. Three bold, brave, balanced steps into my arms. I toss her in the air with amazement. Her giggle fills the room like a shower of gumdrops, bright, beautiful, and fun. I am covering her in kisses. She tastes sweet like something from the delicatssen. I stroke her silky milk chocolate hair, I nibble her nose, I smother her soft, doughy skin in kisses. I smooch her scrumptious feet, her ticklish tasty tummy, her edible ears. I take a bite....

Oops.

Hello Mom of a Munchkin -
I found you through Mel's blog, and she found me through our friend Jobina's blog. This mommy blog thing certainly has you meeting all sorts of people. Just wanted to introduce myself so that if/when I comment in the future, you know who I am.
Anyways - I love this post - so well said and have we not all experienced it! Something about babies just makes you want to eat them up! :) We are now experiencing that it comes back to bite you (I know, bd pun! :) with my son now that he tries to bite you too, though his are not soft little "bites"!
