We are the lucky ones...

Sunlight streams through a wall of windows. Bright blue autumn skies provide a beautiful backdrop as my baby reaches out to feel the tickle of water droplets mist her smiling face. Hand outstretched to the sky, a fountain falling over her, my little girl giggling....this picture...this moment...is one of those precious motherhood memories I will treasure forever. An opportunity I would have missed had I not been home to make it happen.

Our last week was a busy one but filled with an abundance of beautiful moments. It started with a refreshing weekend reconnecting with friends and spun into a busy week of swimming, shopping, visiting the spa, potty training, and an overflow of special moments. Little Lady had her first experience with a water slide, she finally began to defeat her fear of walking, and potty training has now advanced to the pull-up stage. Our marriage also experienced an increase of warmth, love and laughter which has been rejuvenating.

As I lay in bed one night these words played through my head again and again...

"I know we are... we are the lucky ones. I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones, dear."

Last weekend while visiting our friends she lent me a brilliant book which has been such an inspiration so far. It's entitled "Professionalizing Motherhood". Our visit, this book, and the brilliant memories of last week have me smiling at my husband and softly singing to my sweet daughter....

"What could i say to you, except, "i love you." And "i'd give my life for yours." I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones, dear.....
My dear, It's time to say i thank god for you. I thank god for you in each and every single way. And, i know... i know.. i know.. i know... It's time to let you know. time to let you know. Time to let you know. time to sit here and say... I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones.I know we are... we are the lucky ones, dear.

We are the lucky ones, dear..."

Glad to see you "out-and-about" again in the blogosphere.

Sounds like you had a lovely week.

Did you say "potty training"? Wow, we haven't even talked about that yet. Share the details when you can.

And while we're talking about milestones, how is "weaning" going?
